The double height glass windows give the space a light feeling that Lajoie believes shows off the clothing perfectly. Lajoie said the store's modern, yet rustic space gives it a European feel, and she credited renovations done by the landlord. "These signature jackets are famous for their fit and high quality of design and fabric," she said. Hazel also carries alpaca jackets by Beyond Threads. "I have several black dresses that can be casual or as dressy as you want. "I think Hazel will offer women the chance to build their wardrobe with investment pieces that can be varied in many ways," Lajoie said. There are dresses by Catherine Andre, a French couture designer. Many of the clothes are made by designers in San Francisco, New York and Vermont. "These are not your run-of-the-mill clothes in any way." "Every black pant has details that are unique to its style," Lajoie said. The most important feature of each item of clothing is that nothing is a "throwaway piece." The quality is going to last and hold up, she said, adding each item is handpicked and beautiful. "Many of the pieces are black, but I also have other colors and will be getting in more earth tones for fall," she said. Lajoie said the mix of her "younger eye" combined with Hannah's more experienced eye is what gives Hazel a unique selection. The women's clothes are aimed at the mid-20s-and-up age bracket. Lajoie has consulted with Hannah in buying for Hazel.
